Why Your Mindset is Your Most Important Asset

Why Your Mindset is Your Most Important Asset

Do you remember the story of the "The Little Engine that Could" by Watty Piper? This popular children's story from the 1930's tells the tale of a small locomotive that successfully pulls a long train over a high mountain. There were many cars of Christmas toys which needed to make it to a town on the other side of a mountain. Large engines were asked to performed the task but refused. A smaller Engine took on the assignment and successfully got over the mountain by repeating over and over again "I-Think-I-can." Two very important factors fueled the success of the Little Engine:

  1.  A Made Up Mind. If we have any hope of being successful at all it starts with a belief that success is possible and that we are capable of achieving it.
  2. Verbalizing Success. The Bible tells us that faith comes by HEARING. What we speak out of our mouths reinforces our confidence in our own abilities. He didn't say 'I-Think-I-Can" one time...he kept on saying it until achieved the goal.

What is that you desire? What goal would you like to reach? Make up in your mind that you are going to accomplish it and then make your words match your aspirations. Drown out the naysayers and any negative thoughts that might be lingering in your subconscious by repeating what you would like to manifest. Be specific. Say it with conviction. You are the Little Engine! Encourage yourSELF!
