DELAY VS DENIAL

DELAY VS. DENIAL
3 TIPS TO HANDLING YOUR HOLDING PATTERN
You've got the winning concept. You had a light bulb moment that is going to change everything. You finally got your money together. You've finally decided to have "the talk." And then there is a curve ball at you. You had your mind and heart synchronized to move in the direction of your goal and just like that the wheels of progress grind to a screeching halt. The proverbial wind has gone out of your sails. You are now deflated rather than determined. Stop. Breath. It's time to stop thinking of delay as denial. We can't use a delay as our "get out of jail free" card and crawl back in our hole. You are in a holding pattern. All is not lost. Achievement of the goal is still possible. The energy, enthusiasm, and effort necessary has not evaporated its just on stand by. Resist the urge to look at a pause as period. You are still on the clock and in the game. Practice these 3 tips during delay:

  1. Stay Focused. The plan has not changed. You are still on track. Be ready to take action when the delay is over. Resist the urge to become discouraged or distracted.
  2. Review the Plan. This delay could be by design. Perhaps it's an opportunity for you focus on preparation for the endeavor. Take this time to evaluate the effort you going to undertake. The plan has not changed but it just might need a little tweaking to maximize results or impact.
  3. Rest. This could very well be the calm before the storm. Once you get going you'll need your best energy to fuel your best effort. Take advantage of the opportunity that the delay provides to by allowing yourself to just be. Every moment doesn't have to be filled with motion.

Remember, you are still on track and you are going to crush this next goal. You are delayed NOT denied.

Why Your Mindset is Your Most Important Asset

Why Your Mindset is Your Most Important Asset

Do you remember the story of the "The Little Engine that Could" by Watty Piper? This popular children's story from the 1930's tells the tale of a small locomotive that successfully pulls a long train over a high mountain. There were many cars of Christmas toys which needed to make it to a town on the other side of a mountain. Large engines were asked to performed the task but refused. A smaller Engine took on the assignment and successfully got over the mountain by repeating over and over again "I-Think-I-can." Two very important factors fueled the success of the Little Engine:

  1.  A Made Up Mind. If we have any hope of being successful at all it starts with a belief that success is possible and that we are capable of achieving it.
  2. Verbalizing Success. The Bible tells us that faith comes by HEARING. What we speak out of our mouths reinforces our confidence in our own abilities. He didn't say 'I-Think-I-Can" one time...he kept on saying it until achieved the goal.

What is that you desire? What goal would you like to reach? Make up in your mind that you are going to accomplish it and then make your words match your aspirations. Drown out the naysayers and any negative thoughts that might be lingering in your subconscious by repeating what you would like to manifest. Be specific. Say it with conviction. You are the Little Engine! Encourage yourSELF!

Be Mindful of What's on Your Mind

TODAY'S INSTRUCTIONS:

Be mindful of whats on your mind! Refocus and redirect your thoughts to that which is positively framed. Its true,  we deal with some heavy stuff but lets make sure that our thoughts reflect our faith in God rather than our fear of what we face. BE ENCOURAGED. SPEAK/THINK LIFE in everything that concerns you!

Philippians 4:8-9 (KJV)

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

GOOD MORNING, GOD BLESS.

ACCEPTANCE VS AGREEMENT

Acceptance is not necessarily agreement although the two are easily confused. A person can choose to accept something because wisdom says its not worth the effort or energy to continue to dispute or defend a path or a person which does not add to one's own value. This is where the ability to discern what battles to choose becomes critical. Choose to focus your energies on YOUR God given purpose rather than to pursue what will distract you from your assignment. Every battle does not require you to report for duty.
